Happy Friday!
I hope everyone south of the border enjoyed their holiday celebrations yesterday! For us, it was a regular Thursday—the usual fourth day of the week filled with work, school, hockey, and Awana.
This morning, we're braving -19°C (-2°F), which has me especially grateful for all the things that generate warmth. I'm treasuring my car's seat and steering wheel warmers, the clothes dryer for its ability to deliver a toasty sweater, and, of course, warm beverages—today's pick is coffee.
On this cold day, I’m struck by how God’s love works like warmth in our lives. Just as heat softens the chill, His love softens hardened hearts and fills us with peace. Romans 5:5 reminds us, “God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”
God’s love transforms us, melting away bitterness, fear, or apathy and making room for joy, compassion, and peace. This divine warmth doesn’t come from us striving harder—it is poured into us by the Spirit, filling every empty or cold place we bring before Him.
As we go about our day, may we remain open to His love and reflect that warmth to others, bringing His peace and comfort into a world that often feels cold and weary.
In what areas of your life do you need God’s love to soften your heart and bring peace? How can you share His warmth with someone else this week?
Grace & Peace,
Amber
