My Take: Gathering to Scatter
During Sunday worship, I love to reflect on how our gathering is like a team huddle, preparing us to step out and play our roles in the larger mission. The unity we experience within our local community refreshes our spirits and renews our minds, equipping us to share the gospel—through both word and action—in our circles of influence throughout the week.
I think about the ministry of families hosting hockey players, the teachers shaping young minds, the police officers, doctors, and healthcare workers serving with compassion. I see business owners and administrators carrying out their tasks with kindness and conviction. I’m reminded of those who have endured trials and now share testimonies of God’s grace, encouraging others who are suffering. It's a beautiful thing to witness God working through the people around us—in their workplaces, families, and communities.
Reflecting on this, I’m reminded that Sunday worship is more than just a routine—it’s a time of spiritual renewal and preparation for the week ahead. As Gather has highlighted, our gatherings equip us to live faithfully, not only within the church walls but in every area of our lives. We are sent out to be the hands and feet of Christ. This book has deepened my understanding of how our unity as believers is meant to impact the world around us.
As we gather each week, how might we better embrace our role in the body of Christ, allowing what we receive in worship to shape how we live and serve in the days that follow?
